Like most social networking websites, Listoid collects both personal and non-personal information. Personal information is data that can be used to uniquely identify or contact a single person. Non-personal information is data in a form that does not correlate with any specific individual.
Listoid collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Listoid's visitors use the website and improve overall user experience.
Listoid also collects potentially personally-identifying information like IP addresses, emails, phone numbers, and names. Listoid does not disclose such information, except for circumstances outlined in the section on Information Sharing.
Some Listoid services, such as creating new lists or commenting, require you to complete a registration form. As part of this registration form, we require certain personal information, such as your e-mail address.
Listoid may present links in a format that enables us to keep track of whether these links have been followed. We use this information to improve user experience and serve up customized content and advertising.
When you send email or other communications to Listoid, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests, and improve our services.
Given Listoid's mission to organize the best content on the web in list form, collecting information about people using the Site is vital to the Listoid experience. Your votes give Listoid value by determining the arrangement of content on the Site, and this is only possible by collecting user information. All collected data, whether personal or non-personal, will be used strictly to improve the Listoid user experience. We will not rent or sell your personal information to anyone and we will share your personal information only as described below.
Listoid may share with third parties certain aggregate, non-personal information such as the number of visitors to a particular list or how many users clicked on a particular advertisement. Such information does not identify you individually.
If Listoid becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, user information would be one of the assets transferred. We will do our best to ensure the confidentiality of any personal information involved in such transactions.
Information collected during registration and subsequent visits, such as your full name and location, may be displayed to other Listoid users in your User Profile. The User Profile is the area on Listoid where we allow you to tell other Listoid users about yourself and your interests.
Except as noted above, in cases where your personal information is shared with third parties, you will be able to opt out to prevent the sharing of this information.
Listoid is concerned about your privacy and we will never provide your email address to a third party without your explicit permission.
If Listoid ever sends you information by e-mail concerning new products, services or information that you did not expressly request, we will provide you with an e-mail address by which you may request no further notices.
Regardless of your opt-out options, you will continue to receive all system e-mails (e.g. those regarding forgotten user passwords) and legal notices (e.g. updates to our policies) from us as a registered Listoid user.
Protecting Your Personal Information
When you use a Listoid Service such as posting a comment or review, filling out your user profile, or creating a list or entry, the personal information you share is visible to other users and can be read, collected, or used by them. You are responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these instances. For example, if you post your name, email address, or phone number on your profile page, that information is public. Please take care when using these features.
You can always opt not to disclose information to Listoid, but then you may be unable to register or use certain features on the website, such as commenting, voting, or creating lists.
Most of the content hosted on Listoid is editable, not only by you, but other site members. Lists, entries, and user profiles can all be modified to correct, amend, add or delete personal information. Keep in mind that when you update information, we often maintain a copy of the unrevised information in our records, and a History of revisions of some content, such as lists and entries, is always publicly accessible.
Some submissions of content or information on Listoid are not reversible, removable, or modifiable, such as comments, votes, and reviews. Please take extra consideration when posting information to these places. Listoid makes no promises to honor requests to edit or delete user submitted content such as comments.
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.
We restrict access to personal information to Listoid employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop, or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
