Mangalore - Fifth Element

Not much is revealed about the Mangalore from Fifth Element other than that they were pretty stupid, brutish, worked for Zorg, and could morph into human shapes for brief periods of time. Fifth Element was tongue-in-check through and through, so it's hard to faulty the film for lack of realism, but the Mangalore's behavior seems too comical.

Vogons - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The overly-bureaucratic and hideously unappealing Vogons from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy look like rotund, oddly-shaped geezers. An alien Albert Einstein, perhaps? In the book they're also mentioned as being writers of the third worst poetry in the universe. Clearly a comical alien, it's described that when Vogons first crawled out of the sea, evolution was so disgusted with them that it never allowed them to evolve again.

Alien - The Arrival
The aliens from Arrival look vaguely human for a few unique features. The most striking difference, and the reason they are able to leap about with super-human strength, is their inverted leg joints: an entirely plausible morphology, even though it looks so weird and creepy to us. They also had two fleshy flaps on the back of their heads loosely covering the brain. It was an interesting design choice, but seems to leave the vital brain area unnecessarily exposed to damage.

Mondoshawan - Fifth Element
The rotund, lumbering benefactors of humanity from Fifth Element are known as the Mondoshawan. Mysteriously entrust humanity with the most important weapon in the universe and reappear every 5,000 years to reassess the wisdom of their decision. It's never made clear in the film whether the Mondoshawan are mechanical beings, or biological ones inside those ungainly suits. Either way, their morphology is entirely impractical for everyday life, but in the quirky Fifth Element universe it works.

Cardassian Vole - Star Trek
Even though the Cardassian vole is a hideous creature terrorizing the technical systems of DS9 (and, of course, Chief O'Brian), Quark actually tries to breed some to organize illegal vole fights for people to bet on.
